| Description: | Abstract: The 61st edition of the BP Statistical Review of World Energy will be published in June of this year. The Statistical Review is the first publication to provide an authoritative, objective picture of global energy supply/demand/trade developments from the previous year -- by fuel and by country. Energy types covered include oil, natural gas, coal, nuclear, hydroelectricity, biofuels, and other renewable energies, as well as electricity generation and CO2 emissions. The Statistical Review has a global reputation for objectivity and timeliness. In addition to English, online versions have been published in German, Russian, and Chinese. Speaker biography: Mark Finley is General Manager, Global Energy Markets and US Economics at BP. In addition to analyzing the economics and politics of the world oil market, he has produced market assessments for natural gas, electricity, carbon, and coal. He also manages the annual production of the BP Statistical Review of World Energy. He regularly presents BPs views on global energy markets to external audiences. In addition, Mr. Finley is a Vice President of the International Association of Energy Economics and is the Chairman of the US Conference of Business Economists. Mr. Finley has over 25 years of private- and public-sector experience as an energy economist. He joined BP's Economics Team in 2001 and has worked in Washington DC and London. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Michigan (Economics) and holds graduate degrees from Northwestern University (Economics) and The George Washington University (Finance). He and his family reside in Arlington VA. |
