Event: Terroir 2012, 11/9/2012 to 11/10/2012

Event: Terroir 2012
Description: Join us for an in-dept examination of the current understanding of terroir, the mystical and perhaps mythical relationship between the land on which grapes are grown and the wines that are produced from them.

On Friday afternoon, explore the terroir of the Napa Valley, including a guided wine tasting of Napa Valley Cabernets, led by Master of Wine, Peter Marks.

On Saturday, hear about the latest scientific studies of terroir, the extension of the concept of terroir to tea, cheese and other foods, and a debate about what science does or doesn't tell us about terroir. The day begins with a keynote presentation from Rowan Jacobson, author of American Terroir, and ends with a terroir tasting faire.
