Event: Bat Boy: The Musical, 4/24/2013 to 5/4/2013

Event: Bat Boy: The Musical
Description: Bat Boy: The Musical is inspired by the Weekly World News reports of a half-bat, half-human boy found in the caves of West Virginia. Adopted by a local veterinarians family, the Bat Boy transforms from feral beast to civilized erudite through song and dance. With music by Laurence O'Keefe and book and lyrics by Keythe Farley and Brian Flemming, the musical pokes fun at musical theatre conventions while delivering a macabre story of the beast who cannot deny his natural inclinations. Divided between his desire for a normal American family and his natural instinct for blood, Bat Boy is scapegoated as the reason for the towns cattle-ranching crisis. When all of the townspeople turn against him, the true story of his progeny is revealed. With an eclectic musical score and constant comedic plot twists, Bat Boy: The Musical is an insightful satire that delivers unadulterated entertainment.
